Dr. Yvonne Mai Jenkins

Dr. Jenkins earned both her Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree as well as her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO).  She received her externship training at Texan Eye Care, a well-known ophthalmology practice in Austin.  During her training, she worked closely with several ophthalmologists specializing in anterior segment, LASIK and other refractive surgeries, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal-vitreal disease, and oculoplasty.  In addition, she received training at Plano Eye Associates, a private optometric practice in Plano where she provided comprehensive eye exams to all age groups and gained considerable knowledge in contact lenses, the management of ocular diseases and surgical and refractive procedures.  Upon the completion of her academic and clinical training, she was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence from the UHCO faculty.

Dr. Jenkins specializes in geriatric and pediatric vision, computer vision syndrome (CVS) as well as challenging contact lens fittings for soft and rigid gas permeable bifocal contact lenses and keratoconus.  Her strengths include the management of pre- and post-operative refractive surgeries and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of dry eyes syndrome, glaucoma, and other ocular diseases.

Dr. Jenkins is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and the local Harris County Optometric Society.  She is an annual supporter for the Research to Prevent Blindness, a non-profit voluntary organization.

Dr. Jenkins and her husband David, a seventh grade science teacher in the Alief School District, enjoy traveling, fishing, camping, and other outdoor activities with their children, Olivia and Evelyn.


Dr. Katie Pham

Dr. Katie Pham grew up in Beaumont, Texas and attended Texas A & M majoring in engineering and biochemistry. She is a 1999 graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. In addition to her thorough academic education, she trained clinically at the Bellaire Contact Lens Associates facility. Dr. Pham's responsibilities involved the successful fitting of highly challenging contact lens cases and the co-managing of various modalities of refractive surgery, with a strong emphasis towards LASIK. Additional clinical expertise was developed while seeing patients at the Frost Eye Clinic. There, she began specializing in evaluating and diagnosing complex ocular pathology (disease) cases.

Post graduation, Dr. Pham worked professionally in commercial optometry and then later had the rewarding opportunity to join a successful refractive surgery center. During her time there, she personally co-managed greater than 3,500 successful LASIK and PRK surgeries. She also has worked for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) as a Clinical Examiner ensuring graduating doctors of optometry are performing at their highest and safest level for the public.

In 2001, Dr. Pham joined her husband's former practice. Shortly afterwards, they developed with their partner the practice located at Highway 290 and Barker Cypress. She is a current active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Harris County Optometric Society.

Dr. Pham and her husband are very proud parents of three lovely children.  They enjoy spending their free time playing, teaching, and traveling.

Dr. Dana Ziskrout

As a proud American, Dr. Ziskrout enlisted in the United States Air National Guard Reserves after high school for six years wherein he attained the rank of sergeant when honorably discharged.

Born in Los Angeles, California, he began his academic/ophthalmic career in 1985 with an associate's degree in ophthalmic dispensing. Subsequently, he became Nationally Board Certified from the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE). In 1990, Dr. Ziskrout attended California State University of Los Angeles, majoring in Biological Sciences.  There he earned numerous academic awards including the Golden Key National Honor Society. In 1994 he transferred to Pacific University, Forest Grove,OR, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science in 1994.

In 1997, Dr. Ziskrout earned his Doctorate in Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry (PUCO). At Pacific, he receive many academic and clinical honors. During a clinical rotation at the San Diego Naval Hospital (emphasis on detection, treatment, and managing ocular pathology), the Naval Commander recognized Dr. Ziskrout's valuable contributions with a letter of commendation. In the area of pediatrics and binocular vision, his doctoral thesis research pioneered new areas into Attention Deficit Disorder and its potential relationship with eye movements and understanding their complex relationships. In late 1996, Dr. Ziskrout was invited and presented his research at the American Academy of Optometry, Orlando, Florida.

Post-graduate, Dr. Ziskrout accepted an adjunct clinical faculty position from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). Prior to that, he was the Chief Resident during his Family Practice Residency at UHCO.  Dr. Ziskrout has been the focus of a multi--part series on Channel 8, Houston's Public Television Medical Monday program.  For several years, he has served as a distinguished member on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) as a Senior Supervising Clinical Examiner. In support of optometry, he has given testimony at the State Capitol in Austin, Texas to The House of Representatives regarding optometric laws and continues to be active in other optometry related legislative matters.

Dr. Ziskrout’s professional areas of interest and strength include: Bifocal contact lenses(soft & gas permeable), LASIK Co-management, complex spectacle refractions, and the treatment of eye disease.  He has been an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Oregon Optometric Association, and the Harris County Optometric Society.  He and his wife, Dr. Katie Pham, have successfully co-managed LASIK and cataract surgeries to thousands of highly satisfied Houstonians and fellow Americans nationwide.

Dr. Ziskrout and his wife are blessed with three great children;  A gift greater than vision.
